Robert Browne has decided to take a break from producing any more "Philly Scenes," an 18-month project that highlighted some unusually captivating images in Philadelphia.
I know I'll miss them as will others who have gravitated to this photographer's "eye."
Taken as a whole, I think "Philly Scenes" not only tells a story about Philly life, but also reveals a bit of Robert's personality (venture into that at your own risk!). Many images exclude people, others include a solitary life form. Many exude a moody atmosphere, others show the stark honesty of brick and stone facades. I could easily describe Robert in similar terms. And I'm sure my reactions to his work also reveal a bit of me to me -- the ultimate work of the artist.
I don't know when Robert will resume this project again, or if he ever will, but one thing's for sure: At some point, something of interest will come up and bite him in the ass and he'll share his pain and joy with us again through his images.
I hope you come back often with me to see where his creative instincts go.
